Cell Test System (CTS)


Main Features


The CTS system is optimised for testing large amounts of single cells. The maximum charge and discharge current is 5A. The automatic and dynamic current range selection allows testing of small button cell up to Laptop cell with this system. The key features are:

The BaSyTec CTS test system is optimised for single cells (Li-Ion, NiMH, NiCd, Lead-acid, DLC). It is also possible to test all other batteries that have a charging voltage below 5 V. Typical applications are:

  • Quality control in production lines

System Description


The modular design of the CTS system results in a service friendly and reliable device.

The automatic, dynamic and offset-free current range switching technology is an innovative new development of BaSyTec. During operation the current is always set to the optimum current range.

Each system is operated through a standard PC computer, which can be supplied by the user if preferred. Both RS232 and Ethernet communications are available, between the test system and PC.



Central Processor Unit (CPU) - Each system contains one CPU module. This module allows a minimum pulse length of 40 ms and a time resolution of 20 ms. The accuracy of the time is 10 us.

Test Channel Cards - There is only one standard channel card for the cts system. This card comes with two independent channels with a voltage of 5V, 4 current ranges and a temperature input. Batteries are connected with a four wire method. Temperature measurement is done with a NTC. For each channel, there is a 9 pin D-Sub connector on the front side.

There are no further options, as additional inputs, other current and voltage ranges. The advantages are a compact design and a attractive price. If other configurations are necessary, other BaSyTec products must be selected (MDS, GSM, LPS or HPS system).

Compatibility - CTS systems are 100% compatible with the BaSyTest Software and it is possible to operate them together with other Basytec Systems in one network.

Operation


Preferred operation is under Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP. Once tests are started, the test system operates automatically, with or without supervision. The sequence of system operation is quite logical.

Write a Test Plan - Line oriented test plan, with a simple to understand and easy to use editor. Uses direct keyboard entry with assistance from wizards.

Start a Test - Individual channel or a group of channels can be started simultaneously, with the possibility to perform a time delayed start.

Monitor in Real Time - A single detailed screen displaying real time data and real time graphics is provided, essential for use in short term electrochemical experiments.

Record Data - Test data is recorded at user specified intervals into a local SQL database in the system PC. This database system makes it simple to identify tests, and to get all information relating to the test, whether the test is still active or was completed a long time ago.

Analyze Data - The integral data analyzing tool makes it possible to analyze data from both active and completed tests. Analysis can be performed numerically using powerful filters, or graphically, and can be used to generate professional reports.

Export Data - For some larger users, the capability to export test data to the company's internal network is provided.

BaSyTest Control Software




The BaSyTest Software is a universal and powerful tool to control all BaSyTec battery test systems. All data is stored in a database system. The fast numerical and graphical data analysing and the direct data transfer to MS Excel and MS Word makes the software to the most powerful one in the market.
